• "Kleenmaid" brand RELAUNCHED

  Compass acquires Kleenmaid brand.

  The Compass Capital group confirmed today that it had acquired the rights to the Kleenmaid brand of home appliances and will launch a new line of Kleenmaid kitchen and laundry products in the first quarter of 2010.

  Compass is finalising a proposal whereby Kleenmaid customers that had monies on deposit with the former Kleenmaid Company will be offered an opportunity to acquire Kleenmaid products at a discount.

  Compass is currently negotiating with national retail chains and it is proposed that the new range of Kleenmaid appliances will be available in selected retail outlets early in the New Year.

  Kleenmaid has approximately 500,000 customers and in excess of 1.2 million Kleenmaid products have been sold in Australia.

  Compass is committed to continuing with the Kleenmaid tradition of searching the globe for the very latest advances in appliance technology and developing them for the Australian market.

  The Compass Capital group has no association with the Kleenmaid group of companies that are in liquidation.

  Greg Raine, national sales manager of Integrated Appliance Group, says in Europe, 60% of kitchen appliances are sold through kitchen design companies, compared to less than 3% in Australia.
  "Selling appliances through kitchen companies is a model we pioneered 10 years ago, and it's gaining popularity," Raine says. "Today we have more than 160 kitchen companies selling our appliances in Australia.
