Has the iconic aussie standard of going the extra yard to help someone out vanished with the customer service standard set by Dave at Outback Motors Copley? Stuck at Mungeranie on the Birdsville track with broken U bolts in the rear end of my ute, Outback Motors were called for replacement items. In stock and confirmed that they would be sent as soon as travel arrangements could be organised! 5 days later a phone call confirmed that the parts still hadn,t been sent! Assurred that the new parts would be sent, I waited. Still nothing after a few days a phone call to Barnsey at Birdsville Roadhouse had 2 new U bolts on route within hours with a caravanner heading my way! 2 weeks after my initial contact with Dave at Outback Motors Copley I called into his business to see what had happened to my original order. The U bolts were sitting on his desk and his nonchalant response was that no one had come in to pick them up! He argued that i had agreed to travel some 300km to pick them up and denied that he had promised to get them to me with a traveller heading my way! His absolute lack of care and arrogance in respect to my situation astonished me and left me doubting some timeless aussie standards! Thank god for people like B****** at B********* R******** who continues the tradition of helping a bloke out no matter what! As for Dave at Outback Motors Copley-cop this; Do unto others as you would have others do unto you!
